The second part of the Youth Exchange "Footprints in Silence" took place in in Kryoneri Korinthias and Kalavryta, Greece. The participants stayed at the Hostel Elisson during the week 3-10.10.2019.
This was the second part of the youth exchange „Footprints in Silence“, which took place in August 2019 in Ravensbrück and Berlin, Germany. It was an artistic search for traces in the shared past of young people from Germany and Greece.
In the second part of the Youth Project the young people had the opportunity to explore the history in a creative and narrative way. They researched and reflected personal memoir of witnesses of Nazi persecution and created art. The programme included ice-breaking games, presentations of the Martyr villages, where the Greek participants had their origins, a visit in Kalavryta and its Holocaust museum, a mosaic workshop, a workshop based on „Memories of the Occupation in Greece“, a skype interview with Rifka Kamhi, a World War II survivor and visits to the Corinth region as well. The documentaries "The Light Thickens" (Lydia Konsta) and "The Balcony" (Chrysanthos Konstantinidis) have been screened and discussed during the project.
