The garden is surrounding the hostel with domestic mediterranean flora, plants and trees and green grass as well.
Walnut trees in the middle of vegetable gardens are giving the name to the locality. A rich soil, irrigated from Kryoneri's Upper Fountain is helping roses, oleander, lavendel, magnolias, cypresses and more, to grow around the building and in the yard.
The wooden fence and a number of wooden signs botanical information are made with the help of Finish and French practitioners in the frame of the European vocational training programme "Leonardo da Vinci".
The irrigation of the 4.500 sq.m. garden is supported by the purified waste water, including our organic vegetable's garden during the summer.
The biological treatment system of wastewater helps in irrigation, so that the respectable volume of water used in the hostel is not lost.
